So I did the foolish thing of going to the expo by myself with all 3 kids in tow. At least I didn't have to pay for them to go. Ug! I had forgotten what a mad house it was. I wasn't sure if it would be sssooo busy this afternoon, but like my friend Jennifer, they probably all took the day off work to go. Oh man. HOWEVER!!!, I scored some serious deals. I'm so excited. Quick kutz dies for my squeeze which are usually $9-$11 I got for $1 - $6.50. And the ones that were $6.50 were buy one get one free. SCORE!!!! Plus lots of chipboard shapes for $1 a box. Of course I went WAY over budget, but I had some money set aside so it's ok. It only comes twice a year and this is when I really stock up on stuff. Hooray for scrapbooking!!!!! Next time though, NO KIDS!!!!!!

Fall Carnival
Seth's school held it's Fall carnival. We made a showing and had a great time. The boys got to play on the bouncy rides and even played a few games. Paige was frustrated because she had to stay in the stroller. No fun for her though. We also got dinner there. Gandolfo's provided sandwiches, chips and drinks. So YUM!!! It was nice. We left at the perfect time, a big storm is blowing in and is supposed to drop the temperatures from a nice 75 today to about 50 or below tomorrow and rain. Lovely! Glad they had the carnival today!!

Broken Nose
Sunday was a very interesting day. We were all resting after church in anticipation of going to Grandma and Lynn's to visit with family. Our nephew JJ is moving to Indiana to get married so it was basically a good bye type of party. So as we were relaxing and waiting to go we hear a scream, some crying and a small amount of gurgling. The boys were out of their room eating and Paige was in there by herself. Well since no one was in there, we aren't sure exactly what happened. All I know is that Dan found Paige on the floor next to the ladder the boys have for their bunkbed and she was covered in blood. Her nose was now the size of her face and we got her out of her bloody clothes and into a towel and headed off to urgent care. They don't do facial injuries so we headed off to the ER. I wasn't totally excited about the thought of spending all afternoon there. But we got in and out without too much difficulty. Needless to say that our beautiful little girl now has a broken nose because she pulled a ladder down on top of her. It was a clean break and her septum was not injured so that was a relief. The Dr. didn't do an xray because there was no point. There's nothing they can really do for it except let it heal and go from there. So we got the name and number of an E-N-T and if she's funky looking or can't breathe after all the swelling goes down then we should go see this other guy. She seems to be ok and no too traumatized from her accident. She was playing in the exam room and talking and laughing so we are relieved that it wasn't any worse. And because of it we were able to make it to JJ's party.
So if you look closely between her eyes, you can see that it's black and blue. The discoloration goes under both her eyes as well. Very sad, but she seems to be ok.

Utah State Fair
Say hello to Big Red. He weighed in at 2700 pounds and was about as fierce and a bowl of mashed potatoes. He was letting everyone come up and pet him. The owners basically said that he's the family pet!
Big Red just sat their and was in a comotost state as people petted him. I really think he was enjoying himself.
He was especially gentle with all the kids. He just dwarfed ANYBODY that came up. Good thing he is a gently giant.
Seth picking apples. YUM!!

Mathieu's Cake
Sarina's little boy turned one and I was able to do his birthday cake. I made one for everyone to eat and then a smash cake for him. Sarina seemed to be happy with it and Mathieu enjoyed his so I guess it's all good!!

Tuna fish breakthrough
We finally had a breakthrough with Seth today. We've been trying to get him to taste new foods (he's very picky and would prefer to only eat nuggets, fries, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and carrots with ranch dressing). Today we decided to have tuna fish sandwiches for lunch and we made one for Seth in the hopes that he would eat it. It took us a few tries and a few tears. Seth even told us that he doesn't "like stuff that's bad" for him. Oh brother! Oh the drama!!! But we finally convinced him to come and try it. When he finally tried it he told me "that's better!" So hoorah for breakthroughs!!!
