Moving Day

I am sitting here amid a pile (and I do mean a pile) of boxes and it has really hit me. We are moving today. WOW! I'm so ready for it. It has felt like forever to get here. Dan got home late last night. It's so nice having him back home. We have all missed him. Seth wanted to stay up all night until he got home. He was asleep 20 minutes after he went to bed. Thanks to Margot and Lynn for coming over and sitting with the kids while I went to the airport.
But we are really doing it. This place is one part of our lives and now we are ready to move onto the next phase. We will miss folks, but we are ready I think.

Next post we should be in our house and I'll post pictures. I'm ready. Let's do it!!!

Family Easter Fun

We had our Easter today, with family. It was really nice. It will be the last time we get together with the family before we move. We had an Easter egg hunt and a wonderful ham dinner. The kids really had a great time. Here are a few pictures from today.
On the way up to Tremonton.

Keegan being silly before dinner.

Grandma's official job today was to gather eggs with the kids.

Paige's stash, (if you notice our kids were the
only younger ones present).

Keegan and Seth's stash. That's a lot of eggs....all filled
with candy and toys.

Bigger word usage

I found this test. Just input your blog's address and they'll tell you what reading level you are writing on. I need to pull out my thesaurus and start using some bigger words. Oh well, I do have young kids around and very little adult conversation anymore so that might have something to do with it! I am college educated I promise........... I even minored in English Lit!!!!!
I guess it is ok. Maybe I should start a word of the day....just start picking ridiculous random words from the dictionary and using them. Nah.......it was a nice thought though.

Eggs for Easter

Time to do eggs again. We just did St. Patty's Day and without any time to breathe it's time for Easter. So.....we found this egg dying kit at Walmart and we decided to grab it up. It looked like it would be really fun to do!
Keegan was really enjoying all the swishing!
The boys did some really neat color combinations!

Seth's first egg included green (his favorite color). He was very proud of all his eggs.

Even Paige got into the act and was able to swish her own eggs. I put the color on hers though.

And viola! You have tie-dyed eggs in various shades of purple, green, blue and pink. There is some yellow in there too somewhere, but I think it blended a little too well.

We all had a great time coloring the eggs. Now we just have to get our baskets ready in hopes for the Easter bunny on Sunday. I can't believe it's so early this year!!

A Green Dinner

To celebrate the day we decided to have a "green dinner." Yummy green pancakes with a fruit topping, green blueberry muffins and some bacon-Seth was upset that I couldn't make the bacon green-and green cake (with a lemon curd filling because I had some in the fridge) for dessert. It was very yummy and the boys had fun with all the green food. HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY!!

1 week down, 2 to go.

It looks like we've made it one week. We are both miserable and Dan is bored out of his mind. Did I mention that he's in the middle of small town USA? He's already been to the movies and seen the one movie that interested him and has purchased a PSP handheld. Hoorah. The kids on the other hand are going insane. The weather hasn't been the best lately for being outside and they are slowly but surely running out of room inside to play. But good news....we are almost completely packed. I have left some toys out and clothes and a few pictures on the wall, but otherwise we are almost packed. The last week we are here i'll do the last of the packing. This week will be spent spending time with friends and making sure Seth is up to date with school work as his spring break is the week before we go. I think we are ready for this. I know I am. Get me out of here and get me settled. I hate the packing part of moving. Ug! But this time we are getting rid of all the random junk we have lying around. Only 2 more weeks to go. Can everyone count the days down with me? :O)

violins are cool again

We were watching Noggin this morning and during one of our favorite shows (Jack's Big Music Show) there was a duo of guys playing violins and singing. It's really bringing cool back to playing the violin. Enjoy!

An Ode to Mondays

Today sucks. It just sucks. I got no sleep last night and everyone is working on a single cylinder instead of all of them. Ug......

It has begun...

So here we are, it's really officially official. Sunday morning and we are eating breakfast like any other morning. However, Dan left this morning. If you hear the sound of weeping in the background that's probably me and not just because he's gone. (Hey, I've lived through a deployment to some secret squirrel location right after Seth was born. This little separation will be nothing compared to that.) But because he's gone AND the enormity of the task at hand of packing up this place by myself. Oh I've had offers of help (which I greatly appreciate by the way) but I think if people came over, i'd rather just have them talk to me. They don't have to lift a finger....just the conversation is all I really require. I will be lacking adult conversation by the time this interlude is over. It should last 2-3 weeks depending on how quickly Dan can find us a place to live. I'm hoping for the 2 weeks over the 3 weeks but we'll see what happens. Either way we will all be very busy here packing, schooling, and other various activities. We also have to make sure we get plenty of play dates in for the kids. Say a prayer for us that we'll make through these next 3 weeks unscathed.....Seth especially. He cried himself to sleep again last night and it's breaking my heart to take him away from all his friends and cousins that he so loves playing with.
Did I mention that we are really excited about this? I mean we really are......it's just shaded in mystery under all the whining, weeping, and packing we'll be doing in the next few weeks.

HIgh School Musical

So I guess I have missed the boat on all the HSM hoop-la. Not really into it (even tho Zak Effron is a cutie!). However my friend's daughter Anna decided on a very simple design for a HSM cake. Lucky for me it was easy since we are right into our move. But I couldn't pass up yet another cake opportunity. Thanks!
So here it is. White cake with a lemon filling and there you go, a birthday cake for Anna.

Ghosthunters

I know-I really need to put something up here other than videos, but I just can't help myself. I really don't watch that much tv, it's just everything is coming in all at once. So here's yet another one.
Three more days and TAPS is back! We have seriously been waiting for this. Seth and I are on pins and needles. He LOVES this show and I can't get enough of it. I am SUCH a nerd!!!

Twilight Movie

I've been a bit "obsessed" with this series Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. (See previous blog about Eclipse and Breaking Dawn) It's a really great series and they are currently in production of the movie based on book 1. It won't be out until December and I am sick with anticipation I tell you, just sick. So I was goofing around on you tube and typed in Twilight and lo and behold found some trailers. Now I know these are not the "official" trailers, but it just gets me even more excited about the movie. I'll be one of the first in like to go see it and will probably see it on opening day. I really have serious issues I know, but they are just so good!!!! AAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! (i really need to get a hobby!)

So enjoy the trailer.
