An army themed cake.....have to say that this one made me nervous. I've never done a camo design before. It cake out dark and looks more like a cow print in the pictures, but it really was camo.....oh well. lesson learned. The overall cake looks ok though so I hope the birthday boy will like it. The inside is a yellow cake that has been rainbow swirled. So it'll be a surprise every time they cut into it. My camera's batteries died so I took these pictures with my phone. Not the highest quality, but what can you do?! This was also my first time painting on a cake. I do believe that it works better with a fondant cake, but I got the buttercream really cold and it seemed to work out ok.

Just because I know that you can't get enough!!! How many times will you watch this before June 30? It's ok.....you're in good company!!
and also, just in case you are at a loss for words, here's a break down of the trailer, thanks to the good folks at Reelz Channel. They pretty much sum it up!! I'd watch it before I read the break down though!

What???
The weather man predicted a cold front coming through southern AZ for yesterday and today, but this is NOT what we expected. I got up with Paige around 330 this morning and I heard the rain coming down. Didn't realize that I'd see snow when we were all up getting ready for school and work!! Holy cow. The flakes coming down weren't just little ones, these were reminiscent of Utah snowflakes. Crazy!!! It only stuck to the cars, which I guess is good. How odd would that be to cancel school/work due to snow at the end of April???? The kids were all excited about it too, although it did take us a few minutes to locate coats. It sure is pretty, but I was just getting used to warm weather! Mother Nature surely has a sense of humor!!

lost tooth
Keegan has had a loose tooth for a while now and this afternoon, it finally came out. In the sand box.....so the tooth fairy will have to believe that he lost it and pay up for it!

Field trips
This week is busy in all sorts of way. Seth had AIMES testing and Keegan had 3 field trips. I was able to go with him on two of them. The school got the kinders out fo the school during the testing because their rooms needed to be utilized. So the field trip #1 was Monday and it took us to the local fire department, police department and the library.
Then the they went to the zoo, but I was unable to attend that field trip and today we headed back up to Tucson for the Children's Museum. So I didn't have to drive, Paige stayed with some friends who have a daughter her age. I figured it was a perfect play date! So I got to ride with Keegan on the bus! It was a long day, but I think everyone had a good time!

Easter Morning
Easter started VERY early in this house. Keegan was up by 5am and that just about killed me. He was very excited that the Easter Bunny made a stop and wanted to tell us all about it! I told him that it was great and then to hush because other people were asleep. So Scooby Doo came on and he waited until 730 to start making a big racket and by then everyone else was up. They were all very excited about the books and candy that they received. Then we went out into the backyard where the Easter Bunny had left eggs for the kids to find. They accomplished that in about 2 seconds. But it was a great morning and I know they kids enjoyed it. We spent the rest of the day enjoying conference. It's ssssoooo nice to be able to spend all day in jammies and watch conference on tv!!

Conference Fun
We printed off kits for Conference to keep everyone's interest up during the talks. They had a good time doing a matching game and coloring all the pictures.
After wards Seth asked to do something and Dan told him it would cost a nominal fee. This is the usual response to random questions from the boys. So Dan told him that he had to try to lick his elbow....and like a good boy he tried it. Hilarious!! Of course I had my camera ready and he was such a good sport about the whole thing!

Preschool Fun
During preschool on Wednesday, the Easter Bunny made a surprise visit and left eggs all over the backyard. The kids had a great time gathering eggs in their buckets. It was a lot of fun watching them!!
