My 8 month Old!!!

the pictures were taken on 8-16-11 when she was actually 8 months old

I finally get to post about Bronwyn turning 8 months old! I wanted to wait until her doctor's appointment to get official stats. She has grown so much!! At least it seems that way to me! The months are really flying now. She'll be 1 before I know it.

Here are her stats:
            *head circumference- 44 1/2 cm
            *length - 28 inches  79th percentile
            *weight - 23.8 pounds  99th percentile

Holy cow!!! She's my big girl!! But at least she's healthy and that's all that matters! And no.......she still doesn't have any teeth. But the doctor didn't seem to be worried so neither am I.

She's eating a plethora of foods now. I still try to make as much of it as I can. She DOES NOT like yellow squash. I made a whole bunch of it and she wouldn't touch it. Ended up adding it to spaghetti sauce for the rest of us. She LOVES sweet potatoes and of course apple sauce. She really liked the apple peach sauce I made. I'm going to try apple/pear next. She's also started drinking some juice in addition to her formula. She wasn't too keen on it at first, but has since gotten used to it and loves it. She only gets 1, 4oz bottle of it a day.

She loves being on the carpet surrounded by her toys. She loves to play and is clapping and starting "talking" all the time. Her favorite toys are the ones that make noise and the teething rings. She's starting to reach when I put my arms out to pick her up. She scoots all over the place and is trying to figure out the mechanics of crawling. My guess is she's waiting for her daddy to come home and she'll do tons while he's here.

She's absolutely perfect!! Love that sweet girl!

a new bed

Bronwyn finally got a new bed. I really didn't want to have to buy a brand new crib when this is our last addition but I got one that converts to a full bed when she's old enough to need it so I guess it wasn't a huge waste of money. I love it. Of course putting it together this evening almost caused me to say some naughty words, especially when i realized I had put the sides on backward and had to redo it. grrrr.....
but it's finished. All I have to do now is make a matching bed skirt for it and it will be complete. Guess this means I need another trip to the fabric store in Tucson!
We'll see how the little princess likes it after she sleeps in it tonight. She seems ok with it for now. You'll have to excuse her lack of clothing. She was in the middle of a diaper and jammie change. So therefore she was without apparel in the picture. She's not little, but sitting in the middle of this crib she seems so tiny...

Paige is 5

My big girl! She'd get made if I called her "little". She's grown so much and I just can't stand it!! She also started school today which is a HUGE milestone. I am having a hard time grasping the fact that she's in school!!! WHAT??!?!?!!

I think she had a good birthday. School was the highlight. We also went to Peter Piper Pizza for dinner and she was able to play all sort of goofy games and win some corny prizes (like lollipops and a ring). But she was thrilled so it worked out. We ate way too much pizza and then came home for presents and cake. She requested an Ariel cake. I was happy to oblige her. School is a bit different this year so I won't be taking cupcakes to the school to share. Bummer...she was a bit upset but understood.

Happy birthday princess!! We love you and our family wouldn't be complete without you!!

the cake she requested. she was very firm that flounder be NO WHERE on her cake.....

the card from mema and papa had a crown in it. she wore it all night.

bronwyn "got" her play jewelry

her best friend in WA sent her ponies. She was thrilled!

the brothers gave her a helmet and bike bell
which goes perfect with..........

A NEW BIKE!!! (insert price is right voice here)

seth was super helpful and put the bell on the bike.

she had a ball riding up and down the sidewalk on her new bike. keegan was just a stone's throw away watching over her very carefully.

time for cake!

First day of school for 3!!!

Ahhh, first day of school. We meet again. Feels like just yesterday that you took my boys and now you are back and taking my girl with you. I'm not sure i'm ready to let her go, but lucky for you, she's more than ready!!

I don't know what Paige was more excited about, the sheer fact that she was going to school or that she got to ride the bus. To make the day even more special, she turns 5 today. Wow.....I have to say I did NOT cry in front of her. I was all smiles. I actually didn't think I was going to cry, I mean this is not my first, first day of school dance. But once back in the truck and turning back out onto the highway...i lost it. I got no advanced warning either. They tears just started flowing. Guess it happens to the best of us!!

She and the boys all had a great day! I'm so glad! Even though I had to remind Paige that she gets to do this all over again tomorrow, she was still happy. I'm hoping this year turns out great!! Too bad Dan will miss the majority of it again... :( But we are on the downhill slope with his deployment so it's o-k!

my sassy girl in her new shoes and fancy uniform!

for her birthday breakfast she picked out chocolate chip muffins with milk. Well picked my dearest, well picked!

all ready to go. the hairbows are going to be the only splash of color we get until it gets colder and she can wear tights....

i did not even have to pull teeth to get them to pose for a picture! it's a miracle!

on the way to the bus stop-she has perma-smile! hehe

so apparently we missed the bus. it was either uber late or uber early. we got there at the time that it was last year and it never showed. So i took the kids to school. Glad I did because then I was able to get pics of Paige going into the school.

my little bathing beauty

Since learning to sit up, bath time has been a whole new experience. She LOVES to be in the water!!! Splashing seems to be her favorite.

playing

i love how the kids play so well together. it doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, it's a beautiful thing!
