I can't believe that my boy is 7 today. In fact he'll officially be 7 at 11:10pm. It really doesn't seem like he's been a part of our family that long. He's such a joy and a wonderful big boy (he'd start giving me the evil eye if I said "little"). Some of his favorite things are:
LEGOS
SPONGEBOB
PRIMARY
DRAWING AND COLORING
PLAYING WITH FRIENDS
VIDEO GAMES
He's such a pleasant fellow and such a loving person. There's not anyone he doesn't like. Did I mention that he's super smart (not that I'm biased or anything). He's doing above grade work and loves school and learning. So here's to you my birthday boy! I LOVE YOU and am so grateful that you chose us to be your parents!!!!!!

Mall and Park Fun
12-23/24-08
Since there's just so much to do around here, we ended up wandering the mall (the vast thing that it is.....pppfffttt!) and another day we went to the park. The eldest got to ride his bike and the rest got to play on the big toys.
The weather has been less than ideal this week so far. So much for warmth in Southern AZ. It's been cold and windy and has threatened rain for a couple of days. Bummer. Oh well. We have another week with mema and papa.

Christmas Sunday Best
12-21-08
Here are the monkey's in their Sunday Christmas finest. I was in the process of making my girl a dress and got frustrated so me and mema have to finish it. But we had this green dress as backup. No worries, and the don't the boys look so grown up?

Border Patrol
12-20/22-08
I just have to share this. We've gone north a few times since mema and papa have arrived. Everytime we do this we have to go through the border patrol stop. Normally they would ask a question that would lead them to believe you are legal or check paper work or something. Well not the Captain Literal that we encountered not once, but twice on different occasions.
Conversation #1:
CL: License please.
husband: here you go
CL: Is everyone an American citizen?
husband: um.....yeah....
CL: thanks have a nice day
He was as serious as an heart attack too..That's what was so funny about it. What were we going to say, uh......no I'm not.....I'm a terrorist "i kill you" . Oh man.
The next time we headed north we encountered Captain Literal again. I figured he may have changed his tune and gotten into something a little more appropriate.....but no......
this time it was: "What's your nationality?"
ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? Somebody promote this guy because he's going to catch all the illegals coming north from Douglas, AZ. Seriously......I needed Tylenol from all the laughing we did.

Sedona Desert Museum
12-20-08
Mema and papa have arrived and we are very excited to show them around. Of course when we showed them around the town we lived in, it took about 30 minutes. Small town......
So we headed up to Tucson and went to the Sedona Desert Museum. The drive up to the museum I could have done without. I believe I was car sick by the time we arrived. So much for an enjoyable drive. Ug.......remind me not to do that any time soon.
But it was a fun trip over all. We saw a few desert animals and lots of wildlife. We even got to explore a cave. I would recommend it if you are in the area. But not in the summer as most of the museum is outside. As it stands it was a nice 60-ish degrees and we were all comfy in short sleeve shirts. The great thing about it was that there was a dispenser of sun screen in the bathrooms. I guess they don't want to get sued over sunburns. Everyone had a great time and after wards we went to find my grandma's house (well the house she lived in before she passed) and it seemed intact, several changes, but intact. Then it was time for milkshakes and a long and boring drive home. Thank goodness for in car dvd players.
this was my grandma's house. she had the front originally fenced and the brick work wasn't there, but this is her house....
