Since Keegan's birthday falls on none other than Easter this year, we held his party today. He decided on a Harry Potter theme. We've been reading Harry Potter as a family and I guess that's why he chose that theme. I'm not complaining, it was a lot of fun to find ideas for it. Thank you Pinterest for that. That site saved my bacon on so many things!!
I made chocolate frogs and found a pattern on my silloutte to make the boxes (i never would have cut out that many boxes by hand), made wands for each guest, and a sorting hat (which wasn't quitre right, but it worked). We played games and got sorted. Ate lunch and celebrated with butterbeer cupcakes. I'd like to think that everyone had a great time. Each guest left with their wand, a chocolate frog (which I made as well-too cheap to go out and buy stuff like that), Bertie Bott's every flavor bean (watching out for the vomit and ear wax flavors-YUCK!), a glow stick and a certificate of completion of their first year. It was exhausting but with 14 kids running around it was well worth all the sleepless nights I spent getting everything ready. Happy birthday buddy!! We love you to the moon and back!!

we served lunch so i had to come up with some names for the food. we also ate Dumbledore's
pensieve (blue jello), acid pops (sour lollipops), forbidden forest paste (chips and bean dip), and edible wands (twizzlers).

Seth came up with the idea of making Felix Felicies and put a drop of it
in everyone's drink.
divination class. they had to sit on a balloon to pop it to reveal their fortunes
care of magical creatures scavenger hunt: a creature kidnapped, ron, ginny, hermione, harry,
draco and goyle. the kids had to follow the clues to find each one.
we also set up a photo corner with the Sirius Black wanted poster. These turned out great!
