Another July 4 in Sierra Vista. I love this holiday and I have to say I love spending it here. I do wish we had family closer, but we still always have a lot of fun. We start out the morning meeting with other members of the ward at the annual ward breakfast. It never disappoints. Eggs, pancakes, sausages, juice. YUM!!! Those that do the cooking always go way beyond. There is always a great turn out and I enjoy meeting with everyone and just chatting and everything being so low-key. After the breakfast and brief devotional (this year is was given by Chris Damato) the kids did a bike parade. The primary started this last year and I believe it's the highlight for the kids involved. I know ours really enjoyed decorating their bikes and riding them around the parking lot. After the ward breakfast we came home and spent time together as a family. We caught up on Warehouse 13 and played games. Around 5pm we packed a picnic dinner (homemade KFC-ish chicken tenders, chips, grapes, dip/salsa and a mountain of sodas and water bottles. We always gather as a ward to watch fireworks and we wanted to get there early enough to get a decent parking spot and to secure a place with our friends. We sat amongst several members of the ward and enjoy the evening and the great fireworks show. My camera ran out of battery before the fireworks started so I don't have any pictures of them. Bronwyn was not scared at all and really loved all the colors in the sky. Paige sat with friends and they oo'd and aaahhh'd throughout the whole show. Seth unfortunately spent the whole show standing beside the porta potty. He ended up getting sick. It was a lot of fun and the rain stayed away until the show ended. We were pulling out of the park as it started to rain. Thank you mother nature.

Splash pad fun (july 2, 2013)
We recently learned that one of the parks in town had added a splash pad. You have to reserve it and the fee is $5 an hour. So we invited a few folks and got it reserved for 2 hours. It was a lot of fun! It's nice because they can go from the splash pad to the big toy that is right beside it. Kept them entertained all morning. We also brought a picnic lunch. By the time we got home everyone was pretty tired. I'm looking forward to doing this again!
