Keegan's 8th Birthday

Today was our little man's birthday. Of course he's not so little anymore. He's actually quite big and wearing close to the same size as Seth. Ug....he's growing faster than I would like for sure. Originally I was going to do a big birthday for him, but Dan wanted to get him a train set so we let the birthday boy decide between the two. Of course Keegan chose the train. No surprise there. So last night we headed up to Tucson and Keegan was able to pick out a nifty model train. I'm not sure who's more excited...haha! So today instead of a big party we had a couple of families come for lunch, cake ice cream and presents. Keegan had a great time and was excited about all his goodies!! He's had a good day and we ended it with Toy Story.
first thing this morning, playing with his train set. the thing takes up my entire table.

i found labels online that i was able to print out and i laminated them. most of them went on his cake, this one i kept for the water pitcher.

angus was always close at hand

dad cooking the hot dogs. yum!

also found these labels online. i blew them up and places them on the soda bottles. coke, coke zero, root beer, and orange.

yes the cake is a little lopsided......oh well.

at least it looked good on the inside. i was stoked at how well it turned out. tasted good too!

Happy Birthday Keegan!!!!

Renaissance Faire

We capped off our spring break week with the renaissance faire. I've been looking forward to going ever since last year when we went. This time, though, Dan was able to come with us. I'm so glad. The weather wasn't hot, in fact it was quite overcast and threatened rain most of the day. We ate too much and played a ton. And of course Paige got to see Twig the fairy. The highlight of the day for her. I also took way too many pictures (no surprise). Lots and lots of fun!!! Every bit worth the 3 hours it took us to get there.

jacobs ladder. it's harder than it looks!

dragon slide. paige couldn't ride since she was wearing a skirt. the boys loved it!

my turn waiting for a ride on a giant rocking horse.

twig the fairy. paige just adores her. even has a book by her. this was the highlight of her day!
pretty face paint.....who is this girl-she's so grown up!
the turkey legs were better (dare i say it?) than the ones at disneyland.
she ate more of it than dan did!
they rode elephants this year.
waiting for the jousting to start.

it was a fight to the "death"
