Last night was our ward's annual picnic and Cove night. Lots of fun. We met at the park in front of the cove for hot dogs and sausages with chips and punch (or water) and everyone who came was asked to bring cookies. The cookies I made were a hit! We were lucky enough to bring 5 home. We each got an extra one. Yum!! Chocolate chip cookies with crunched up chocolate oreos in them. Who wouldn't be able to resist?
We had a great time. Playing with friends in the park and then swimming until we passed out. The kids ended up going to bed really late but it was worth it. It's the only place in town to go swimming so when the opportunity comes we take it. I think I may even still have some water in my ears this morning!!

Finally.....
The other tooth finally gave up the fight and fell out during school today. Seth got off the bus and into the truck and smiled really big and it was the first thing I noticed. Of course he's very excited about the tooth fairy however she'll be late because Seth left his tooth at school. Hopefully he'll remember on Monday. Isn't he handsome without any front teeth?? Eating is going to be tricky for the next few weeks until his new tooth decides to come in. Fun!!

Luau
For Enrichment night the other night the Relief Society put together a luau. They had beautiful table settings, tiki torches and plenty of flowers and fun. It was held outside at the ramada beside the church building. Lucky for us that monsoon season wasn't rearing it's ugly little head (of course it really hadn't been doing that so far so it was really no surprise). It wasn't too hot and it really was a lovely evening. They brought in a couple of Polynesian guys from 5th ward to perform a couple of dances for us. Really fun. Then the food was to die for!!!! Kalua pork, sticky rice and a divine salad. The folks in charge put in a lot of hard work and it turned out great. I think everyone there had a great time. I know I did.
This is the Haka dance. If you've seen a BYU game (in person or on tv) this is what the players do before each game. It was pretty cool to see it close up.

Tooth Fairy
Looks like we’ll be visited by the tooth fairy tonight. Seth’s tooth finally gave up and decided it had had enough and he was able to pull it out after dinner. Poor thing had been barely hanging on for some time now. He was so excited too. This is the first tooth lost in about a year now. It’s about time. The one right next to it (the other front tooth) is also barely hanging on and I would bet that within the next week it’ll be out. Then there’s a loose one on the bottom that should be out in a month or so, his teeth like to take their time falling out.

Paige's 3rd birthday
Happy Birthday Paige!!! I can't believe she's already 3. Seems like yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital (I think I say that every time, but seriously.....time has flown by!)
Once again we decided against a big party and just had something with us this year.We are planning a party for her next year. (yes i'm already in plan mode-how sad is that?). I think she had a good day. We headed over to the play land at the mall and played there for a while until it got ridiculously busy and then we went to get cold and tasty beverages and headed over to the big park. (have I mentioned that small town USA doesn't have much in the way of fun things to do.....?) Not many people there and since it had cooled slightly (from 99 to 94 degrees) we thought it would be a good idea. Plus there was a nifty breeze that helped. The kids had a great time playing and making new friends. After wards we headed over to Applebee's for dinner. They got to pick prizes out of the treasure chest and enjoyed a yummy dinner. Then home for baths, presents, cake and ice cream. I think she enjoyed her day. Here's a slide show from the festivities and a video at the end of us singing to her. Enjoy!!

Paige's Haircut
The time has come that Paige needed a hair cut. I didn't take her anywhere, I just did it at home. I guess I"m just cheap that way. Plus I couldn't stand the thought of taking her somewhere to pay $15 just to trim the edges. So I pulled out my trusty haircut scissors and went to town. I didn't cut very much, maybe an inch at the most so you can't even really tell it's been cut. I'm hoping that it will have a bit more bounce and not be so stringy. I also figured that since she's going to be 3 on Saturday, now was as good a time as any for a hair cut. (I really wish we had a kids place down here. Cookie Cutters needs to expand.)

Seth’s turn
Today is Seth’s first day of school. He was moderately excited about it. We haven’t met his teacher (for full details see previous post Meeting the Teachers). But we did find out who it is so he’s not completely flying blind. Still, I think he’d rather stay home all day. He should do well since we found out that a friend from primary just transferred to the school and may possibly be in his class. Hope so-that would be wonderful for Seth.
He’s very handsome in his uniform although I must say he got frustrated with mom for taking so many pictures. Now it’s just me and Paige at home. I hope I can keep her occupied, this should be interesting!!!

Keegan’s First Day of School
Well the time has come. Keegan is now officially a school boy. Feels weird. I mean I knew this time would eventually come, but it seems like the last 5 years have FLOWN by!!! He’s not my little boy anymore and I don’t know how well I can handle that.
all ready to go, lunch and snack packed and a happy face on
the dreaded car ride to school
getting into the correct line
i think the nerves have started to set in-he’s taking it like a champ!
…”this is what we will do in the mornings when you are dropped off”
Keegan’s teacher. Dan made sure to reiterate the comment he made when Seth started kindergarten “his teacher is hot!”
ok-let’s go have some fun!
Keegan on the way in….. I did get a kiss from him as he walked into the building so I guess he was doing ok. Didn’t hear anything after that so it must be good. I just hope he’s enjoying himself and meeting new friends. He was a little upset that his friends from church won’t be in his class at school. I think he’ll be ok!
